Volunteer requirements

To become a volunteer, you must:

  1. Obtain a DHS Working with Children Check (WWCC) – This is free for volunteers.

  2. Complete the necessary forms – Submit both the Volunteer Application Form and the Volunteer Agreement Form.

  3. Complete mandatory online training:

    • RRHAN-EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse & Neglect – Education & Care) via PLINK.

    • General Volunteer Induction via PLINK.

  4. Attend an Onsite Induction Session – These are held twice a year or as needed. You must also complete the Induction Checklist.

  5. Review your role description before beginning any volunteer duties.

  6. Follow sign-in procedures – Sign in at the Front Office upon arrival, wear a volunteer badge while on-site, and sign out before leaving.

Volunteer opportunities

The following opportunities are available for volunteers:

  • Helping with excursions
  • Listening to students read
  • Assisting in the classroom
  • Supporting sports activities, including SAPSASA
  • Working in the breakfast club, canteen, or library
  • Providing student transport
  • Supporting choir performances
  • Other volunteer opportunities

How to volunteer

  1. Collect a Volunteer Pack – Pick up a Volunteer Pack from the Front Office for all necessary forms and information.

  2. Complete the Requirements – Follow the Volunteer Requirements outlined in the pack.

  3. Contact the Front Office – For any questions or further assistance, reach out to the Front Office staff.
